Spring Recycling Events

Earth Day is upon us. That magical day, April 22, when we reduce, reuse and recycle with reckless abandon. So this week’s blog post is devoted to just that.

Yet another reason New York City is greatest City in the world… There are so many free recycling and safe disposal events scheduled this spring. Between the events hosted by the Lower East Side Ecology Center and the New York City Department of Sanitation, you’ll find an event near you.

So, gather your unwanted stuff, and don't forget to mark your calendars!

SATURDAY, APRIL 21

Electronics Recycling Collection, 10am-4pm
Bay Ridge, Brooklyn – Poly Prep Country Day School

    Upper West Side, Manhattan - Amsterdam Avenue & 110th Street

    The following electronic items will be accepted: 
    Working and non-working computers (laptops, desktops, servers)
    Peripherals: monitors, printers, faxes, scanners, keyboards, mice, cables
    TVs, stereo equipment, VCRs, DVD players, cable receivers, video games
    Cell phones and wall phones
    Small appliances: toasters, microwaves, coffee makers, etc.
    Compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) - no long bulbs, please
    Flashlight-type batteries (AA, C, D, etc.)

    Not accepted: Air conditioners, large appliances like refrigerators

    The following textiles will be accepted: Clothing (wearable or unwearable), shoes, blankets, sheets, towels, etc.

    Not accepted: Carpeting
